About ADAR:

Adar’s supremely original music and lyrics create a world that is deeply her own, yet belongs to all of us. A powerhouse vocalist, Adar formed her band, ADAR, in the summer of 2016, and shortly after, released her first album “The Rapids.” The band is currently in the process of recording their second album, which will be released in 2019. Based out of Charlottesville, VA, ADAR has electrified audiences with charismatic performances that seem to have been channeled, rather than composed. Not quite Soul, not simply R&B, not straight-up Jazz, ADAR blends and transcends each genre, delivering a sound that is uniquely their own.

Reviewing The Rapids, Nick Rubin of the C-Ville Weekly, wrote, "On The Rapids, classic soul sonics give way to balladry as well as touches of reggae and Cubanismo. Her band delivers tasty trumpet and organ solos and whining steel guitar; Adar’s lyrics are sensorily rich with flavors and textures, and...production sets everything in the right space.”

About Calvin Presents:

Calvin Brown is an accomplished jazz pianist and singer-songwriter.  A native of Richmond, VA, Calvin was a child prodigy who was awarded a full-scholarship to complete his Bachelors of Arts at the prestigious Berklee College of Music.  As a professional musician, he has thrilled audiences around the world, playing an array of musical styles. However, his musical restlessness still can’t be contained or ignored.

As an artist, Calvin’s original music, performed by his dynamic seven-piece band, deftly synthesizes the best of his roots in jazz and gospel music with neo-soul, hip-hop, alt rock—and even trap music—forging a relentlessly adventurous and soulful live experience. “Music is a place for me to be free,” says Calvin, “its a place where I don’t have to have all of the answers. I just have to feel and be as honest as I can.”
