About Butchertown Burlesque:
In the olden days of lamp lit alleyways, dirt dusty streets and speakeasy's in the gritty city of Richmond, Virginia, existed the "Butchertown Cats." A gang that ruled the "Butchertown" district, an area that stretched from Shockoe Bottom to Church Hill, oft avoided unless one was brave enough to visit the back alley brothels, or pay a visit to one of the many butchers with swinging meat, lining the streets... Butchertown Burlesque revives the rebellious, retro Richmond and invites audiences to join in the revelry and release their inner flapper, bootlegger or juke joint Judy! Vintage or cocktail attire is requested...gussy up and be a part of the magic!
