Andy Tichenor EP Release Birthday Party

Join us March 21st as we welcome the inaugural studio release from local artist Andy Tichenor, who will be joined by the musicians that contributed to the songs on the recording, playing through the EP in full. As well as a following set from Andy's "Almost Acoustic" band to round out the evening in an upbeat, high-energy fashion. Even more reason to come celebrate, this EP release show will be taking place on Andy's 30th birthday! Clubhouse Sessions Vol 1 - The debut studio EP from Andy Tichenor culminated as an opportunity to gather some of his closest musical colleagues, to record a handful of tunes that truly speak to his experience as an emerging artist. As well, it was primarily an opportunity to utilize his home studio in Waynesboro, Virginia - which has been dubbed 'Clubhouse Studio'. Tracking the bulk of the project in one weekend, engineered by Nate Scholz. Andy desired to capture the delicate sound of Acoustic Guitar in this initial volume of 'Clubhouse Sessions', hoping to tap the decade of acoustic experience and familiarity that he has come to know from his acoustic instrument. Stating the intimate, almost "homely" feel that acoustic can bring, it is exactly the feeling that he had hoped to achieve on a record that was being derived from the sounds within his own home. With an array of musicians adding their own personal influence to the tunes, 'Clubhouse Sessions' is poised to provide a unique, warm, and personal experience, inviting the listener to join Andy and his friends, inside his home, to enjoy a handful of tunes that truly speak to his heart and soul.

Almost Acoustic is the latest project fronted by Andy Tichenor, taking the opportunity to create similar high energy, sometimes psychedelic, jams that he has made a name for in the region. While it's hard to deny the massive influence that The Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia have on him, Andy taps more of his folk roots and leans more towards the bluegrass spectrum while keeping the same vibe that the Dead community has come to know and love, whether that be in original material or carefully crafted covers. Almost Acoustic mainly consists of traditional and non-traditional aspects of your common bluegrass arrangement, such as Acoustic Guitar, Mandolin, Upright Bass, with the addition of Percussion to fill out a thundering rhythm section. Featuring strong vocals/harmonies, powerful instrumental leads, and thoughtful song selections, Almost Acoustic provides an excellent balance between high-energy dancing tunes, and intimate moments that truly captivate and draw in any listener.
