Charlottesville's Best Halloween Party Returns in 2027...

Gather 'round, creatures of the night! The annual spectacle of musical mayhem known as the Mock Stars' Ball returns to The Southern, where some of your favorite local musicians will rise from the grave (or perhaps just crawl out of the practice space) to perform as some of your favorite bands!

The Southern will once again transform into a Haunted Playground, featuring TWO stages and 6–8 bands each night. Expect the unexpected, questionable musical identities, frighteningly good performances, and perhaps a few things that cannot be unseen.

The Mock Stars' Ball is far from a mockery. It's a full-blown celebration of Charlottesville's music scene, where the talent is real, the costumes are questionable, and the musical transformations are sometimes downright supernatural. Silly? Absolutely. Spectacular? You bet your little black cat.

And now, dear friends, we arrive at the most important part of the evening... YOU! Costumes are not required, but highly encouraged. In fact, we'd be a little disappointed if you didn't. After all, appearances can be deceiving, and on this particular evening, we encourage a little deception.  Rumor has it the wearer of the best costume will be rewarded rather generously. So bring your best, your weirdest, and your most gloriously inappropriate Halloween finery.
