Üga Büga (18+)
Üga Büga (18+)
with Remembrance, Shakiira, and Pinkish (and a puppet show)
Charlottesville's hottest New Year's Eve party is Üga Büga's Midnight Meat Ceremony.
This place has EVERYTHING: blast beats, flat Mountain Dew, a man in a sleeveless denim jacket trying to crowd-surf before the opener, and a drummer named Ribcage who was raised by a family of possums behind a Guitar Center in Roanoke.
At midnight, instead of a ball drop, a divorced magician in a Slipknot mask lowers a frozen ham from the ceiling. Nobody knows where it came from. Nobody knows why it's frozen. But when the ham touches the floor, the entire room must kneel before the sacred deli meats as Ribcage sounds the ceremonial cowbell and the Midnight Meat Ceremony officially begins.
Dress code: funeral for your liver.
Featuring live performances by Üga Büga, Remembrance, Shakiira, and Pinkish. None of that other stuff from before. Except the puppet show. And maybe blast beats.
This event is 18 & over only. No exceptions.
