Sarah White & Friends Christmas Show

with Ned Oldham

Hey Hey it's the Country Christmas Show!

Sarah White and Friends gather to bring you an evening of Christmas cheer on this, the longest night of the year!  This Fabulous Solstice Show sports great country music, traditional and sentimental favorites, christmas cookies, Santas galore, and all the twinkly lights you can shake a giant peppermint stick at.  Featuring Ian Gilliam, Charlie Bell, the (All New) Acorn Sisters, Special Guest Ned Oldham and more!

About Sarah White:

One woman, one guitar, no bullshit.

Born and raised in the two Virginias, Sarah White is a songwriter who might resemble some kind of Hazel Dickens/Patti Smith/Cat Power love child. Her catalog offers an eclectic blend of driving folk-rock, sorrowful country ballads and experimental, personal narrative songs -- the trifecta that defines her lengthening body of work.

High Flyer, her new full-length album, is due out in February 2018. Recorded in Richmond at Montrose Studio, the album features 11 of White’s best songs tracked with a bevy of seasoned players including Daniel Clarke (k.d. Lang, Ryan Adams) on piano and keys, Charles Arthur (Slaid Cleaves) on guitars, and Stewart Myers (Agents of Good Roots), who also produced the album, on bass. Special guests include Dave Matthews (who sings with White on ‘Sweetheart’); Carter Gravatt (guitars) of Carbon Leaf; Nashville up-and-comer Carl Anderson and Austin and Michael York of Sleepwalkers.

Sarah performs solo and with a band and wields a well-worn Jumbo Gibson acoustic. She released earlier albums on Jagjaguwar and Antenna Farm and won Best Song at the 2007 Mountain Stage NewSong Contest. She has opened for Merle Haggard, Justin Townes Earle, Earl Scruggs, Will Oldham, Dave Matthews Band Caravan and was named Best Songwriter in her hometown of Charlottesville. Most recently White took home the winning prize at the Ashland Coffee & Tea Songwriter Shootout.
