"Hello?" Album Release Show with The BLNDRS

with Dropping Julia

The BLNDRS are a psychedelic blues rock band from central Virginia. The four-piece has been playing unforgivingly honest and original rock'n'roll since 2015, and has nurtured an impressive regional following. The group is best known for their creative and dynamic grooves and their unpredictable improvisation, but The BLNDRS have also come to be known for the culture of friendship, intimacy, and positivity that the band of friends exude on and offstage.

Alice, Nate, Tommy, and Ben all are songwriters, multi-instrumentalists, and vocalists in The BLNDRS. While you will undoubtedly see Ben behind the drums, Tommy playing bass, and Nate and Alice on guitar at a show, this is in no way the limit of The BLNDRS. Consisting of four best friends, The BLNDRS have carved out their own universe of fun and friendship through the language of music. The four musicians grew up together, and have struggled and overcome together. This is evident in their collective presence, and the joy emanating from the stage with their music.

Their self-titled EP was released in 2017, and have played over 100 shows since its debut. The BLNDRS released their single, "Ends Where It Begins" in the spring of 2019, and their single “Distant Light” in 2020. Their debut full length album “hello?” was released August 13th of 2021.

The BLNDRS have made countless appearances at venues across the east coast, and have opened for numerous nationally acclaimed acts. The BLNDRS launched a side project in the fall of 2018 called The Chain Gang: The BLNDRS as the Pretenders. They performed several shows as The Chain Gang, even opening for Southern Accents: A Tribute to Tom Petty at the Jefferson Theater in downtown Charlottesville. The BLNDRS have also launched another project called the Grateful BLND, their own take on the Grateful Dead.

About Dropping Julia

Born in the 90’s into the bustling, gritty state of New Jersey, Jules set out as a teen, carrying the nostalgia of home from coast to coast, from wild seashores to eccentric towns, and across the pond to the dimly lit cities and countryside of Europe. Bearing her guitar, she bashfully strummed and honestly sang the poems from inside her journal - scribbled down in cafes in the East Village, beatnik cooperatives in California, farms in Western Ireland.

Her adventures, experiences and serendipitous connections bled their way into books full of songs that candidly express female struggles, sorrow, inner battles, nightmares, loss, troublesome love, crowded and anonymous subway trains, the restless twilight of a sleepless night, longing for that mysterious human connection, and the search for magic.

Eventually landing in the rolling Blue Ridge mountains of Central Virginia, she teamed up with the boys to create Dropping Julia. Together they breathe new life into her songs to concoct their unique technicolor mixture - part dreamy and melancholy, part funky and sassy - that bewitchingly delivers the evocative stories in Jules' writing.

Dropping Julia is animated with a dynamic rhythm section, soothing and soulful guitars, jazzy, colorful keyboard, and is topped off with Jules' whimsical yet sultry vocals, passionately and poetically expressing her unique perspective on life. Their eclectic performances are full to the brim with infectious energy and quirky camaraderie, channeling a pastel, bright and bold retro past, all wrapped up with Jersey sass and Virginia charm.
